The team behind Halide, an Apple Design Award-winning camera app, is developing Kino, an iPhone video app.
Halide, known for its photography focus, has been successful on the iPhone. Now, the developers of Halide are set to launch a new app specifically for video.
In a pre-launch announcement video, the developers hinted at a frequently asked question from Halide users about video capture. While the team has no plans to add video to Halide, they are working on a new app, Kino.
Originally launched in 2017, Halide took advantage of Apple’s ability to capture raw files for photos. With the announcement of Log video support for the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max, the team saw an opportunity to create a video app.
The team has already started work on Kino, using a simple version of the app to record the announcement video. They have also revealed that the app’s name will be Kino. Rather than keeping the development secret, the team plans to share their progress openly, including any challenges they encounter.
